先確認這一區要練什麼
I、he、she、it 與單數主詞通常搭 was；you、we、they 與複數主詞搭 were。過去進行式可用來描述過去某一時刻正在做的事，也常作為故事背景。否定句在 was/were 後加 not；問句把 was/were 放到主詞前。
過去進行式最常失分的四個地方
先選 was／were
She was studying；They were studying。先看主詞，再處理 V-ing。
辨認背景與插入事件
I was sleeping when the phone rang。正在睡是背景，電話響是發生的事件。
注意 while 的語境
While Mom was cooking, Dad was setting the table。兩個持續中的動作可以同時進行。
不要漏掉 be 動詞
They playing at eight last night 不完整，要用 They were playing。
